Ever since he was a child, Dr. Alvi wanted to get involved in the healthcare field for his career. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering, but after shadowing his dentist for a couple of weeks, he decided to further his education and earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Minnesota.
Dr. Alvi has been working in the field for more than a decade now! To this day, he is committed to regularly pursuing continuing education to expand his clinical skillset. This includes courses focusing on endodontics, dental implant restorations, children’s dentistry, and cosmetic dentistry.
When he isn’t busy treating patients at the dental office, he is spending time with his wife, Ayesha, and their two sons. When he has some free time, he enjoys running, cycling, and baking desserts.
Dr. Sileshi Assemu
Dr. Assemu had multiple dental issues requiring treatment when he was a child. These personal experiences caused him to gravitate toward the dental world. After completing his undergraduate degree from Tennessee State University, he pursued his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Tennessee in Memphis.
After working in the dental field for more than a decade, Dr. Assemu is still committed to pursuing continuing education as much as possible to stay up-to-date with the latest techniques and technologies in oral healthcare.
When Dr. Assemu isn’t at Taylor Choice Dental, he is spending time with his wife and three sons. During his free time, he likes to hike, bike, and play soccer.
Dr. Shruti Sharma
Dr. Sharma came from a family of doctors! Her father and sister both practice internal medicine, and her mother is a radiologist. She always knew she also wanted to be in the medical profession. After shadowing doctors and dentists, she decided that dentistry was her true calling.
After earning her Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree at Himachal Dental College in India, Dr. Sharma moved to the United States and obtained her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine. Today, she is committed to regularly completing continuing education. She is also affiliated with the American Dental Association and the Texas Dental Association.
Outside of the dental office, Dr. Sharma is spending time with her husband and young son. In her free time, she enjoys driving, watching movies, trying new foods, listening to music, and cooking.
Dr. Simrat Sehmi
Understanding the way a healthy, beautiful smile can influence confidence, Dr. Sehmi decided to focus her career on healing smiles. After earning her undergraduate degree, she earned her dental doctorate from the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry.
Since college, Dr. Sehmi has been consistently taking classes to stay up to date with the newest developments modern dentistry has to offer. She has completed advanced training for Invisalign dental implant dentistry, and full arch reconstruction. She is also a proud member of the Texas Dental Association and the Academy of Laser Dentistry.
When she isn’t treating patients. Dr. Sehmi is spending time with her spouse and tuxedo cat, Ziggy. She enjoys hiking, trying new restaurants, cooking, and baking.
